Social network operations overview

According to Instagram's policies, messages in the messenger are delivered if:

  • Users are mutually subscribed to each other.

  • There is an existing conversation history with the user.

  • Both accounts have messaging enabled (both for sending and receiving).

  • A message request has been sent and accepted.

  • Messages contain no links flagged by Instagram's algorithms as malicious.

  • Existing links do not redirect to other messaging platforms.

  • The user's application is updated to the latest version.

  • There is a stable internet connection.

  • Both the sending and receiving accounts are active and not restricted.

  • Current limits on messages and new conversations are observed (for current limits, please refer to public sources).
