How to create an online course
Learn how to build and customize an online course in this article.
Available only on the "Business" and "MaviBot AI" plans
The MaviBot course builder is a versatile platform designed to create, manage, and sell educational courses without the need for technical expertise.

Quickly build modules and lessons, embed quizzes and surveys, automate student interactions, and ensure a smooth learning experience. With flexible settings, you can tailor courses for different audiences and learning formats.
This article will guide you through the key settings of the MaviBot course builder.
How to create a course
To create a course, go to the "Courses" tab and click the "Create" button. If you don’t have any courses yet, the button will appear in the center of the workspace.
After clicking the "Create Course" button, you will be taken to the main course settings.

Settings
In the main course settings, you can configure information about the course and its author, the type of training, analytics, and links.
To access the course settings, click the settings button (gear icon):

The settings menu will open on the right side of the screen.

General

Type of training – this setting allows you to choose one of the following formats: course, marathon, intensive, or training.
Salebot also allows you to set up a custom domain for your course or create a clean, user-friendly course URL using additional settings.
Unique course link

To set a clean, user-friendly link name instead of a unique page identifier made up of many characters, simply come up with a URL name using Latin characters.

Please note!
When changing the link name, only the part highlighted in red will change:
https://skillhub.mavibot.ai/cs/YOUR_URL
The course promo page will still remain on the MaviBot domain.
Set a custom domain
To replace the MaviBot domain with your own, click the corresponding button.

A modal window will then open, where you’ll need to enter the custom domain set up by you:

To learn how to create an A record, see this article.
Now, your course's lessons and main page will open on your custom domain, while the student’s personal account will still remain on the Salebot domain.
Homework submission

Homework submission – this toggle can be activated depending on how you want to receive homework assignments in your course.
If you’ve selected automatic homework checking, a new field will appear where you can choose the lessons for which homework is accepted automatically and write a comment for students who successfully complete the assignment.

Send callbacks

Send callback – by checking the relevant boxes, you can receive notifications about client actions.
These are the messages (callbacks) that will appear in the client’s chat/dialog.

To set up a response to these notifications, specify the text up to the first space in the condition of a block or arrow, using the match type "Keyword match". An example is shown in the screenshot below:

Course preview
This function displays the course cover in the student's personal account or in the course catalog.
You need to upload a file that will appear as the course cover, or add a link to the file in the provided form.

The course preview will also be displayed, for example, on the website when adding a course card section.
Other settings
To send course-related notifications to course curators by email, enable the checkbox in the general course settings:

Then, the relevant course notifications will be sent directly to the curators' email addresses.
To protect your unique content from unauthorized copying, you can enable the checkbox "Disable text copying" in the lesson settings.

To prevent enrollment and purchases for a course that is no longer relevant, activate the "Archived" checkbox in the course's general settings.

Appearance
Using the "Appearance" tab in the course builder, you can create a bright and unique design for your online course with reliable and engaging customization tools:

Add engaging media files (videos and images) to the course cover, messenger buttons, and clickable buttons — all without any programming knowledge.
To customize the appearance of the course promo page, go to the "Appearance" tab in the course’s general settings.

In the "Appearance" tab, you’ll find settings for the theme, the main page color, the logo, and the background for the course cover.
Theme
For a quick and easy start, you can choose a ready-made theme for your course promo page in the general settings.

There are both light and dark themes available.
For the main page elements (buttons, course info blocks, author section, pricing cards, etc.), there are settings for corner rounding:

By default, oval rounding is applied, but you can also choose rounded or square (no rounding) corners.

Customize your own theme
If the preset themes don’t match your design vision, enable the checkbox "Customize your own theme".

Advanced theme settings will help you customize your course design to your own preferences.

You can apply various interesting patterns to the background of the promo page.
Horizontal layout of lessons/plans
To display lessons and pricing plans on the course promo page in either a horizontal or vertical layout.

Page header
By default, the logo in the header is displayed as the main MaviBot logo.

If you need to display a different name or image, use the settings here:

You can upload an image by entering an image URL into the field, or set the logo as text.
Course cover
The page cover features the course title and descriptionю It allows you to upload a background image, and optionally add a video—for example, to promote your course.

The course cover settings begin with two text editors where you can enter the course title and description.

In the editor field, you can choose the font color and size, align the text to the center, left, or right, and also add various links within the text.
To add additional tags above the course title, use the "Add a tag" button.

Cover Alignment

By default, the cover content is centered.
You can also align the content to the left—for example, to avoid overlapping the background image or to upload a video. To do this, click the corresponding alignment button on the cover.
This will open the settings for uploading media to the right side of the cover.

Here, you can configure the placement of media (image or video) within the cover and choose its size.
Cover background
To display an image as the cover background, there are dedicated settings where you can upload the image, set its height, and choose its position.

Once the background image is uploaded, the theme colors and patterns you set in the course promo page appearance settings will be overlaid on it.
